Day 2: Safari Blue with BBQ Lunch
A full day of sea adventure with sandbank, coral reefs of Menai Bay (a Marine Conservation Area), a small islet and a lagoon! The Bay has a myriad of picturesque uninhabited islands and sandbanks to an extent not found in any other part of Zanzibar. You leave after breakfast aboard our waiting car to Fumba village, West of Zanzibar Island where you will be received, briefed about the tour, board a wooden boat for a 20min ride to Kwale islet and its environs. [Read More...] Menai Bay is ideal for exploration by either wooden dhows or yacht and has great snorkelling sites with plenty of marine life and is well known for pods of dolphins and seasonally, humpback whales. With luck you can spot Spinner and Bottlenose dolphins (85% chances) and swim with them, but touching them is unlikely, as they are of course wild animals. Snorkelling equipment will be provided. Lunch made of a selection of BBQ fish, rice, lentils and fish curry is served at a nearby Kwale islet. Chilled fresh fruit juice, mineral water and bottled soft drinks are available throughout the day. You will spend the remainder of the afternoon, relaxing, swimming or snorkeling at a natural lagoon if tide allows.
